Praying for American Flood Victims

Our thoughts and prayers are with the American people in the aftermath of the deadly floods in Texas over the July 4th holiday weekend. At the time of writing, at least 110 people were reported dead – including 30 children – and over 160 were still unaccounted for. That so many of the victims were children enjoying summer holiday camps is particularly tragic.

Fueled by the remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal, severe storms have continued across the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest, causing tornadoes, widespread flooding, infrastructure damage, and life-threatening conditions.

We pray for all those who have lost loved ones, for the rescuers still searching for those who are missing, and for the souls of those who perished in the disaster. There is no place on earth that is completely safe, but we do have a safe place with God our eternal Father. May your faith bring you comfort and hope through this difficult time.
